Crash returns in yet another actionadventure title, Crash Bandicoot: WARPED, his third appearance on the PlayStation. This time around, Crash and his sister Coco are sucked into a time warp by the evil Dr. Neo Cortex and Uka Uka. It seems that Uka Uka has hired N. Tropy to do his dirty work for him and build a Time Twister machine that can displace time from its current state.

In a desperate attempt, Dr. Neo Cortex begs sinisterly to Crash to return the twentyfive crystals and fortyfive gems that lay hidden away among the many warp holes. It's now your only destiny if you want to escape to follow Dr. Neo Cortex's advice, though the odds are certainly stacked against you.

Crash Bandicoot: WARPED provides a total of thirty levels (plus more secret levels), and unlike past editions where the game was structured with one level appearing after the last, a hub system has been introduced allowing a choice of five levels at a time. Naturally, players can go back to all past levels (except for boss levels, unfortunately) and try their luck in collecting gems and relics, and also reaching new parts of the levels thanks to the new skills Crash learns (crawling, extra jumping, etc.).

The levels also take place over various locations including polar parts of the planet (now split into sidescrolling and ice boulder chase scenes), piratefilled seas (a new action level where you guide your jet ski through a multitude of ramps and pirates), Arabian rooftops, prehistoric lava worlds (including a chase scene by a triceratops), ancient China, mystical Egypt, the Skies (an arcade plane "shoot 'em up" against other planes and blimps) and futuristic war zones.

Crash Bandicoot: WARPED also supports Sony's Dual Shock Controller with both Shock support and analog movement. The PAL version is also presented in English and features PAL borders. ~ Brad Penniment, All Game Guide
